Being separated from everything, its great to finally find a link to our history, and such a action packed history! We have only 11 members in our entire family in Australia. I have forwarded this information to my auntie who has forwarded it to our cousins in Germany (Ute and Christoph Leibrandt). We have also discovered a Leibbrandt that came to Australia from South Africa. I think I have found him too: http://www.leibbrandt.com/LEIBBRANDT_archive/Rob_Leibbrandt_Brisbane/ There was a missing link to place him in the family tree. We will ask them to refer to the family tree and see where we link up (if they can ascertain a link). I will forward you our findings. Our family's history in South Africa seems very prominant. I saw in the text that a lot of Leibbrandt's were/are engineers. My grandfather Julius was an engineer and his 7 brothers were either chemists or engineers, so there might be a link there. I have started my own Marketing company, my brother is at university studying engineering and my oldest brother is a school teacher. My father is an accountant. What is the Leibbrandt family like over in the Netherlands? Most of them are academics or engineers, like me, see http://www.leibbrandt.com/LEIBBRANDT_archive/STAMBOOM_L/Dutch_Leibbrandt_s.doc I am now retired, but still in the race as consultant, see http://www.leibbrandt.com/consultancy/ On-line L-genealogy is all done by L-engineers , in the archive is the material comming from: Germany, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chili, Malysia, The Netherlands Kind Regards, Adam Leibrandt and the Australian Leibrandt Family p.s. If it is not too much trouble, we would greatly appreciate the other information on the website.
