I can imagine what you are doing, we have build own own house in 1980.

I have now another hobby:
Our  telephone Internet connection  "iae.nl"  changed  to a fixed cable
internet connection : "home.nl". The cable is much faster 

It also enables  to make an own webserver !
I installed the Apache software on an old PC and it has been working already:

and also :      http://cp431185-a.dbsch1.nb.home.nl

and a  Domain Name Server  trial of  30 days, provides the following addres :

                      http://leibbrandt.tzo.com

The ultimate goal is to connect "217.123.44.2" to "www.leibbrandt.com"
and make 
   http://www.leibbrandt.com    alive with gigabytes of webspace.
Then al kind of large files can be brought on-line.

(Retired engineers have all kind of technical hobbies).
